Sean Cranston began his career in real estate appraisal in 2010, working in the Vancouver office of BC Assessment as a property information collector. In early 2011, he switched to fee appraisals and started working as a researcher for Grover, Elliott & Co. Ltd in Vancouver.
Sean began the educational requirements of the Diploma in Urban Land Economics program through the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in 2011. Sean was awarded the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Northern BC in 2009 and the Master of Arts degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University in 2010.
In early 2013, Sean moved home to Prince George to take a position with the real estate department at the City of Prince George. At the City, Sean was responsible for internal valuations and negotiations for the leasing, disposition, and acquisition of municipal real estate.
In late 2014, Sean started as an appraiser with Godfrey Appraisals Commercial. Since joining Godfrey Appraisals Commercial, Sean has appraised various real estate, including commercial, industrial, multi-family, subdivisions, agricultural and residential. Clients have included private individuals, corporations, and public bodies, including municipal and provincial ministries. In 2018, Sean became the principal owner of the company.
In 2024, Sean moved to Salmon Arm to expand the company's service area to the Okanagan.
Sean was granted the AACI Professional Appraiser designation in July 2017. He is a member in good standing and has satisfied all continuing professional development requirements. He has previously served as Treasurer and Chair of the North Chapter of the BC division of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and is now serving as Director.
