Keenan Hopson was born and raised in Prince George.  He was fortunate to receive a hockey scholarship to the University of Maine, where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting.

Keenan played professional hockey in Europe for a season before moving back home in 2009, at which time he began working as an Appraiser Trainee for BC Assessment.  

In 2013, he was awarded the Post Graduate Certificate in Valuation from the University of British Columbia.  

While at BC Assessment, Keenan was a member of the residential, farm, cost, and MIP (Major Industry and Power) teams.  Keenan specialized mainly in legislated and special-use properties. 

In 2015, Keenan left BC Assessment to work for the City of Prince George in the Economic Development Division.  At the City, Keenan was responsible for attracting investors to Prince George to grow and diversify the economy.

 

In 2019, Keenan became partners with Sean in Godfrey Appraisals Commercial, later renamed Godfrey, Cranston & Hopson Appraisals (GCH Appraisals).  Keenan mentored under Sean until June 2021, at which time he was granted the AACI Professional Appraiser designation.  He is a member in good standing and has satisfied all continuing professional development requirements.
